A Personal Message from Vince and Seasonal Updates

October 27, 2022

Dear neighbors,

As many of you may have heard, this summer I ruptured the Achilles tendon in my right ankle. After the injury, I had successful surgery to repair the tendon. Currently, I am participating in a physical therapy regimen.

This is an injury that can keep professional athletes out of the game for a year. Rehab is demanding.  I am fortunate; my job doesn't require running fast or jumping high. In fact, with the shift to virtual work, my schedule remains full and I am engaged in Council and constituent matters every day.

Doing the work of the people remains my number one priority. I may occasionally be absent from a meeting --my physical therapy schedule is rigorous and demanding-- but my Council staff are able surrogates and brief me thoroughly.

These past two-and-a-half years have been very difficult for many people. My challenge is minimal compared to what some people have endured. What is clear, is that the hard work required to rebound from setbacks is made easier with the support of community. District residents who have demonstrated strength and resolve are my inspiration.

Thank you for your messages and well-wishes. I'll keep everyone updated.

In service,

Vince
