August28, 2024 - (Washington, D.C.) - The office of Ward 7 D.C. Councilmember VincentC. Gray released the following statement from Gray:

“Today, in Ward 7, a 25-year veteran of theMetropolitan Police Department lost his life in the line of duty," saidGray. "I extend my deepest condolences to Investigator Wayne David'sfamily and his colleagues. There are no words to adequately console those wholoved Investigator David. What we can do is extend the best we have and ourprayers."

"Investigator David dedicated himself to public safety andupholding the law.
