Thanks and Giving

November 22, 2023

Dear neighbors,

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others.”

On the occasion of Thanksgiving, I want to commend everyone who reaches out to help a neighbor, loved one or stranger. Many people among us struggle every day with great challenges. When we assist them, we are all uplifted. You are the embodiment of community.

There are countless ways to volunteer year-round and especially during the holidays. ServeDC, the District's Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships, is a great resource for people seeking to lend a hand. Their easy-to-use portal connects volunteers with organizations and vice versa. Check it out: https://servedc.galaxydigital.com/need/. There is an opportunity that fits your schedule, skills and interests.

In service,

Vince
